When people find out that I’m an author, the question that normally follows is, “Really, have you done anything I’ve read?” Well, I can’t know for sure. That would require me to know everything that person has ever read in their lifetime.
So, I’ve put together a page where you can look at some of the things I’ve done. If you find that you’ve already read one or more of them, then I can definitely say ‘yes’ to that question.
If all of this is new to you, then check it out. Then, should our paths cross one of these days, it will take out all the guesswork.
The light from an old man’s past catches up to him. A salesman deals in secondhand stars. An artificial-intelligence unit designed for war has second thoughts on the battlefield. An entire religion springs from long-forgotten superhero comics. These tales and more may be found in the pages of Strange Reports from Sector M, a compilation of thirteen short stories, flash fiction, and novellas from the ever-moving mind of author Matt Carson. A complex mix of science fiction, urban fantasy, and horror, Carson’s stories offer intricate worlds where no matter what else changes, humanity continues to struggle with questions of courage, grief, and mortality—as well as our shifting, often arbitrary societal norms.
The crewmembers of the RCS Hornet suddenly find themselves at the wrong place at the right time (or vice versa). Decisions must be made, and worlds hang in the balance, as conspiracy inevitably leads to revolution.

A tie-in story for my novel, The Errand deals with events that happen ‘off stage’ from the main narrative. Follow the Paul Revere-esque journey of Cassandra Mayfield in her desperate attempt to save a people she has every reason to condemn. A word of warming, though, if you have an allergy to spoilers, you might read the novel first. You can download it for free at this link.
The sacred treasures of the monastery have been stolen! While simple greed could explain the theft of the eyes of the dragon, the Grandmaster of the Dragon Path has sensed a more sinister motivation for the theft that has come to pass. Far beyond the walls of the remote monastery, you must journey into foreign lands and battle the will of an ancient foe to recover the eyes of the dragon.
